Applesauce Fruitcake Bars Recipe
- 1 can Sweetened condensed lowfat milk NOT evaporated lowfat milk (14 ounce)
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1/4 c. Margarine or possibly butter melted
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 3 c. Biscuit baking mix
- 1 jar applesauce (15 ounce)
- 1 c. Dates minced
- 1 ct green candied cherries minced (6 ounce)
- 1 ct red candied cherries minced (6 ounce)
- 1 c. Nuts minced
- 1 c. Raisins Confectioner's sugar
- Preheat oven to 325`F.
- In large mixer bowl, beat sweetened condensed lowfat milk, Large eggs, margarine and vanilla.
- Stir in remaining ingredients except confectioners' sugar.
- Spread proportionately into well-greased and floured 15X10-inch jellyroll pan.
- Bake 35 to 40 min or possibly till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cold thoroughly.
- Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
- Cut into bars.
- Store tightly covered at room temperature.
- Makes 48 bars.
