Orange Slice Cake

  1. Cream oleo and sugar.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Dissolve soda in milk, add to creamed mixture.
  4. Place flour in large bowl.
  5. Add dates, nuts, cherries and orange slices.
  6. Stir to coat each piece.
  7. Add flour mixture and coconut to creamed mixture.
  8. Bake in two loaf pans (9 x 5 x 3-inch) or three smaller loaf pans or bake in tube pan at 250u0b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
  9. Let sit in pan overnight.
  10. Will keep 8 months as good as it was when cooked.
  11. This can be wrapped in Saran Wrap, about three layers, to keep moisture in; freeze.
