Bohemian Goulash Soup Recipe
- 3 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
- 2 lrg onions, coarsely minced
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 1/2 lb beef stew meat, diced
- 6 c. beef broth or possibly bouillon
- 1/2 tsp marjoram
- 1 Tbsp. caraway seed
- 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 lb potatoes, peeled & cubed Salt & Pepper to taste
- Heat butter or possibly margarine in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Saute/fry onion till golden brown.
- Stir in paprika and vinegar.
- Add in meat, broth, marjoram, caraway seeds, tomato paste, salt and pepper.
- Mix well, Cook gently, covered, for 1 to 1-1/2 hrs till meat is tender.
- Dilute flour with a little cooled liquid from pot.
- stir into soup.
- Add in potatoes and cook till potatoes are tender.
- Serves 6
