Blackberry Gin Fizz

  1. Puree blackberries and sugar in a blender.
  2. Let stand, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved, about 10 minutes.
  3. Strain puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher (there will be about 3/4 cup); discard seeds in sieve.
  4. Stir gin and lime juice into pitcher.
  5. Divide drink among ice-filled glasses; top with soda.
  6. Garnish each with a basil sprig or wedge of lime.
  7. Share with someone you like.
