Poached Figs In Red Wine And Honey Sauce Recipe

  1. Pour wine into a heavy saucepan.
  2. Dissolve flour in wine, off the heat, till fully dissolved.
  3. Transfer saucepan to stove top and cook over a medium flame.
  4. Add in clarified honey (honey which has been warmed to a syrup-like consistency) and cinnamon sticks, and cook, till reduced by about half, approximately 8 min.
  5. Reduce flame to low, and add in figs so which they are standing up straight.
  6. Cover and let cook, stirring occasionally, till figs are fully cooked, approximately 15-20 min.
  7. Remove from heat and take out cinnamon sticks.
  8. Place figs, 2 a piece, into decorative serving bowls.
  9. Drizzle Red Wine & Honey sauce over top.
  10. Serve with a piece of dark chocolate, if you like.
