Williamsburg Lodge Baked Apples

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease a 13 X 9 X 2 inch casserole dish.
  3. Core apples.
  4. Trim away 1/2 inch of peel around the stem ends.
  5. If bottoms are uneven, trim so they will stand upright.
  6. Place apples in the casserole dish.
  7. Place 1 teaspoon butter, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of jelly or honey in the center of each apple.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, basting with pan juices after 20 minutes.
  9. Apples should be slightly firm, but tender.
