Meatloaf With Sweet And Sour Sauce Recipe
- 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. crackers, crushed
- 2 lbs. grnd beef
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Accent
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- In a saucepan, mix tomato sauce with brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard.
- Stir till the sugar is dissolved.
- Combine egg, onion, crackers, meat, salt, pepper and Accent and 1/2 c. of the tomato sauce mix.
- Mix lightly but thoroughly and shape into loaf.
- Put in a shallow baking dish and pour the remainder of the tomato sauce mix over loaf.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, basting occasionally.
- Serve sauce separately.
- In sauce appears too thick, add in 1/4 c. water.
