Mother's Angel Flake Biscuits Recipe

  1. Sift together into mixing bowl: flour, baking pwdr, sugar, soda and salt.
  2. Cut in 3/4 c. vegetable shortening.
  3. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. hot water.
  4. Add in to flour mix.
  5. Add in 2 c. buttermilk.
  6. Work together with large spoon till all flour is moistened.
  7. Cover bowl.
  8. Store in refrigerator.
  9. When ready to use, take out amount desired.
  10. Roll out on floured board to 1/2 inch thickness.
  11. Cut with biscuit cutter.
  12. Place on cookie sheet.
  13. Bake 12 min in 400 degree oven.
  14. This recipe makes 6 dozen light, flaky biscuits.
  15. The dough will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator.
