Blackberry Shooters

  1. In a pitcher, muddle the blackberries along with 1/4 cup Simple Syrup.
  2. Stir in the gin and lemon juice.
  3. Taste and add simple syrup as needed.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before straining.
  5. Fill 4 to 6 shot glasses with crushed ice.
  6. Top off with the blackberry mixture and garnish with the reserved blackberries.
  7. Serve immediately.
  8. Combine the sugar with 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  9. Boil until the sugar is dissolved.
  10. Let cool.
  11. Transfer to a container and refrigerate, covered, for up to 1 month.
  12. Yield: about 1 1/2 cups
