Million Dollar Pickles

  1. Layer vegetables with salt, and leave 8 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain well.
  3. Place in a preserving kettle and add spices and vinegar.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Lift vegetables from syrup with a slotted spoon, and pack into 1 pint preserving jars.
  6. Ladle syrup over top, leaving 18 inch head space, seal.
  7. Process in boiling water bath 15 minutes.
