Baked Irish Style Parsnips Recipe

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 F (or possibly whichever temperature you need to cook your meat).
  2. Peel parsnips, quarter, and remove any woody core.
  3. Parboil (A method of pre-cooking or possibly partially cooking food quickly in boiling water) for 15 min.
  4. Place in an ovenproof dish.
  5. Add in stock and sprinkle with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  6. Dot with butter and bake for 30 min on a low shelf in a moderate oven.
  7. (Generally parsnips are baked in the same oven as the main meat dish, whose cooking temperature governs which of the parsnips.)
