Smothered Roast

  1. Combine one can cream of mushroom soup and one envelope of dry onion soup mix.
  2. Place roast in a greased casserole dish.
  3. Spread soup mixture over the top of the roast.
  4. There is no need to add water to this.
  5. As this bakes, a thick, rich gravy is formed.
  6. Cover dish with foil.
  7. Place in a preheated 325 degree oven.
  8. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  9. Uncover and turn roast over.
  10. Baste with juices.
  11. Cover with foil and return to oven for another 1 1/2 hours or until falling apart tender.
