Taco Burgers
- 1- 1/2 pound Lean Ground Beef
- 1/4 cups Yellow Onion, Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Canned Chopped Jalapeno, Drained
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 teaspoons Fresh Garlic, Minced
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
- Sea Salt, to taste
- Ground Black Pepper To Taste
- 6 slices Deli Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 6 whole Kaiser Buns, Toasted
- Optional Toppings: Sour Cream, Salsa, Shredded Lettuce
- In a bowl, combine beef, onion, jalapenos, egg, garlic, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Form into 6 patties.
- Heat a skillet or griddle pan over medium heat.
- Spray with nonstick spray.
- Cook patties 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- At the end, top each patty with a slice of cheese, until melted.
- Remove meat from pan and let it rest on a plate.
- Meanwhile toast buns face down on the heated skillet or griddle.
- (This prevents them from getting soggy when you add your toppings.)
- Once bread is toasted, spread sour cream on bottom half of bun.
- Layer the bun with a patty, lettuce, salsa, and bun top.
- Tip: Adding 2 Tablespoons of the chopped jalapenos will give the burger a mild spice.
- Feel free to add more, for a spicier burger.
