Grinder Sandwich
- 12 cups Large onions, cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices, separated into rings King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 12 cups green peppers, cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
- 1/4 cup garlic, minced
- 2 cups oil
- 2 Tbsp. dried oregano leaves
- 48 rolls submarine rolls (6 inch), partially split
- 3 cups Kraft Sauce Works Dijon Bistro Sauce
- 96 slices deli-sliced ham
- 96 slices Medium tomatoes, each cut into 6 slices (1 oz. each) Safeway 1 lb For $1.29 thru 02/09
- 48 slices Kraft Provolone Slices
- Saute onions, peppers and garlic in hot oil in large saute pan or griddle on high heat until seared but still crisp.
- Remove from heat; sprinkle with oregano.
- For each sandwich: Spread cut sides of roll with 1Tbsp.
- of the Bistro Sauce.
- Fill with 2 slices ham, 2 tomato slices, about 1/3 cup of the pepper mixture and 1 cheese slice.
- Wrap loosely in foil.
- Bake in 350F-convection oven for 15 minutes.
- Unwrap.
- Serve immediately.
