Easy Potato and Carrot Dish to Serve with Rice

  1. Cut the potatoes into matchstick shaped pieces about 4 to 5 cm long and about 5 mm wide pieces.
  2. Soak the slices in water (but not for too long).
  3. Cut the carrots to about the same size as the potatoes.
  4. Pour vegetable oil in a frying pan on medium heat and add the potatoes and carrots.
  5. Add sake when the potatoes become transparent.
  6. Let the sake cook down.
  7. Turn up the heat a little and add soy sauce.
  8. Fry until it gives off a nice roasted aroma, then sprinkle in the sesame seeds.
  9. You're all done!
