Apple Praline Pie
- 4 cups apples, granny smith peeled, sliced
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 each pie shell (9 inch)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons light cream (half&half)
- 1/2 cup pecans chopped
- Prepare bottom crust in plate.
- Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Combine filling ingredients and pour into pie shell.
- Dot with the 2 tablespoon butter.
- Place top crust over all and seal and flute edge.
- Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until golden.
- Cover edges with foil to prevent overbrowning.
- Remove from oven and set aside, leaving oven on.
- Remove foil if used.
- Blend all topping ingredients and warm on stovetop in a small saucepan.
- Pour over pie.
- Place on cookie sheet and bake an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until top bubbles.
- Cool 2 hours before service.
