Creamy Pasta with Vegetables and Ham
- 2 cups Chopped Broccoli Or Cauliflower Florets
- 1 cup Chopped Onions
- 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
- 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 2 cups Milk
- 1/2 teaspoons Basil
- 1/2 teaspoons Dry Mustard
- 1/2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
- 18 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 18 teaspoons Salt
- 3/4 cups Shredded Cheese
- 1 cup Cubed Ham
- 1 cup Peas
- Your Favorite Pasta
- Combine the broccoli or cauliflower, onions and garlic in a 4-cup glass measuring cup.
- Cover with wax paper or plastic wrap and microwave on high for 6-7 minutes, or until tender.
- Set aside.
- In a saucepan, mix the cornstarch and 1/4 cup of the milk until smooth.
- Stir in the spices and remaining milk.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce thickens.
- Add the cheese and stir until the cheese melts.
- Add the ham, peas and cauliflower mixture.
- While the sauce is cooking, cook the pasta until just tender.
- Drain.
- Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil.
