Herb And Onion Bread Recipe

  1. Scald the lowfat milk and dissolve in it the sugar, salt, and butter; cold to lukewarm.
  2. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the hot water.
  3. Add in the cooled lowfat milk, flour, onion, and herbs.
  4. Stir well with a large wooden spoon.
  5. Grease the bowl with butter, add in the dough, and cover the bowl with a towel.
  6. Let the dough rise in a hot place till triple in bulk, about 45 min.
  7. Stir down and knead a few times.
  8. Turn into a greased bread pan.
  9. Let stand in hot place for 10 min before putting in preheated 350 degree oven.
  10. Bake about 1 hour.
  11. Makes 1 loaf.
