Smothered Patties With Onion Au Jus

  1. Shape ground sirloin into 4 patties about 1/2"-inch thick and 4"-inches in diameter.
  2. Sprinkle with salt.
  3. Place a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Lightly coat skillet with cooking spray.
  5. Add patties and cook 3 minutes, turn and cook 3 minutes longer or until just barely pink in center.
  6. Set aside on separate plate.
  7. Lightly coat pan with cooking spray.
  8. Add onions and cook 3 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.
  9. Set aside with the patties.
  10. Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet.
  11. Bring to a boil and continue boiling 3 minutes or until mixture measures 1/2 cup.
  12. Return the patties and onions to the skillet.
  13. Turn patties several times to coat well and cook 1 minute longer to heat through.
