Chocolate Truffle Squares

  1. To prepare crust: Combine crumbs, melted butter and sugar in a bowl until blended.
  2. Press mixture into a greased 9 inch square baking pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
  4. Cool crust completely in pan on a rack.
  5. To prepare truffle filling: Combine chocolate and cream in a small saucepan.
  6. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
  7. Remove from heat; stir in liqueur.
  8. Pour truffle filling over crust.
  9. Sprinkle with almonds.
  10. Refrigerate until firm.
  11. Cut into squares.
  12. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
