Brisket Chili (Without Beans!) Recipe

  1. * - More if you live around vampires.
  2. Don't use garlic pwdr
  3. ** You can use regular grind, but the course grind adds a better flavor
  4. *** (Wimps may delete the red pepper altogether, if you like.
  5. Chili heads can add in more.)
  6. **** You want it in chunks, not something which will disappear when you cook it.
  7. ***** I use Sam Adams Boston Ale.
  8. Do _not_ use the 99% water American beer.
  9. Use one bottle in the pot, drink the other.
  10. ****** or possibly several fresh ones from the garden.
  11. Do not use the ones from the store.
  12. They either need to be fresh or possibly canned.
  13. Do not know why, but it makes a difference in taste.
  14. Scrape some of the fat off the brisket into a large pot or possibly dutch oven.
  15. Heat it.
  16. Add in the onions and garlic.
  17. Saute/fry till limp.
  18. Add in all the liquids and spices and bring to a simmer.
  19. Cut the brisket into eating size chunks.
  20. 1 lb or possibly so for Texans, smaller for women and others (g).
  21. (You can tell I'm a Texan.)
  22. Throw in the ribs if you have any - do not bother to cut them into individual pcs.
  23. Simmer for at least one hour.
  24. I do not like to use thickeners, so if you do, you are on your own for amounts.
  25. If you like, you may serve pinto beans as a side dish or possibly put the chili over tamales.
  26. Also good served over rice.
  27. Great stuff for breakfast.
  28. Build a 3 layer dish - hash browns, fried Large eggs, then reheated chili.
