Barbari Bread
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. warm water
- 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 6 to 7 c. flour
- 6 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. sesame seed
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- Dissolve yeast in very warm water; add oil.
- Add 1 cup flour and salt.
- Add flour in small amounts, stirring until stiff dough is formed.
- Place in greased bowl, cover and place in warm place to rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Knock down and knead until soft. Divide in 4 parts.
- Grease 4 baking sheets.
- Flatten each piece and shape into flat oblong loaves about 1/4-inch thick.
- Make 3 lengthwise ridges on each loaf with the side of hand.
- Brush with butter and sprinkle with sesame seed.
- Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve at once.
