Chicken and Bacon Pasta
- 1 pound Penne Pasta (or Any Shape You Like)
- 8 slices Bacon
- 1 pound Chicken Breasts Or Tenders
- 1 bag Frozen Broccoli Florets - 16 Ounce Bag
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil, Divided
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
- 2 Tablespoons Flour
- 1/2 cups Shredded Italian Cheese Blend
- 1/4 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes (more Or Less To Taste)
- 18 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Black Pepper
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Add pasta and cook according to package directions.
- When pasta is done, drain it and return it to the pot.
- Set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon slices until crisp.
- While bacon is cooking, cut chicken into bite size pieces.
- At the same time, microwave broccoli according to directions on package.
- When bacon is cooked, remove it from skillet and set aside.
- Drain grease and return skillet to stove.
- Add one tablespoon of olive oil and heat slightly.
- Add chicken and cook until done, about 7 to 9 minutes.
- While chicken is cooking, cut cooked broccoli into bite size pieces.
- When chicken is cooked thoroughly, remove it from skillet.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, milk and heavy cream to skillet.
- Whisk mixture well and then add flour, whisking continuously.
- Continue cooking over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes until mixture has thickened.
- Stir in cheese, red pepper flakes and salt and pepper.
- Crumble bacon and add to sauce.
- Add sauce, chicken and broccoli into the pot with the cooked pasta.
- Stir well to combine.
- Enjoy!
