Southwestern Sausage Quiche
- 1 whole 9 Inch Pie Shell
- 1 pound Pork Breakfast Sausage
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Oive Oil
- 2 whole Small Onions Sliced
- 5 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoons Cumin
- 1 can (4 Oz. Size) Green Chilies
- 1 cup Pepperjack Cheese
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Put pie shell into a 9-inch pie plate and set aside.
- In a saute pan, fry up sausage until cooked thoroughly.
- Drain grease and set aside sausage.
- In the same pan using the butter and olive oil, saute onions until tender, approximately 5 minutes.
- Set aside to cool for about 5 minutes.
- In a bowl mix eggs, salt, pepper, cumin, green chilies and cheese.
- Then add cooled sausage and onions.
- Pour into the unbaked pie shell.
- Bake in the oven for approximately 1 hour or until the center comes out clean when you check it with a knife.
