Chocolate Cream Cheese Brownies

  1. In saucepan,
  2. melt
  3. chocolate
  4. and
  5. butter; cool.
  6. In a small bowl,
  7. beat
  8. together
  9. the
  10. 2
  11. eggs
  12. and
  13. the 1 teaspoon vanilla; gradually
  14. add
  15. the 3/4 cup sugar.
  16. Continue beating until
  17. thick and
  18. lemon-colored.
  19. Sift together flour, baking powder and
  20. salt; add to egg mixture, beating well.
  21. Blend in cooled chocolate mixture
  22. and
  23. the nuts; set aside.
  24. In mixer bowl, cream
  25. together cream
  26. cheese
  27. and
  28. the remaining sugar until fluffy.
  29. Blend in the remaining egg and vanilla.
  30. Spread half of the chocolate mixture in greased and lightly floured 8 x 8
  31. x
  32. 2-inch baking pan.
  33. Pour cheese mixture over chocolate mixture; top
  34. with spoonfuls
  35. of the remaining chocolate mixture.
  36. With
  37. narrow spatula,
  38. swirl through layers to marble. Bake in a
  39. 350u0b0
  40. oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
  41. Cut into squares when cool.
  42. Makes 16.
