Honey-Roasted Applesauce

  1. Wash, core and chop apples.
  2. I usually prepare a bowl of cold water and toss the chopped apples in there until I am done preparing them - they brown less that way!
  3. Preheat oven to 375F.
  4. Place apples (drained) in a dutch oven.
  5. Add honey and lemon juice.
  6. Toss to coat.
  7. Bake, covered, for 30 minutes.
  8. Stir and return to oven, uncovered.
  9. Bake another 30 minutes, stirring half-way through.
  10. Mash slightly with spoon.
  11. NOTE: If sauce it too liquid to your taste, prolong baking.
