Ginny'S Light Melody
- 1 roll Hillshire Farm light Polish kielbasa, sliced quarter size
- 2 c. (2%) milk
- 1 Tbsp. plain flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. pepper
- 8 oz. shredded cheese
- 1 large onion, sliced half-dollar size
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced half-dollar size
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 c. celery, diced
- 1 c. bell pepper, diced
- 1 can English peas or kidney beans
- 2 c. cabbage, sliced
- 5 slices light cheese (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In large baking dish, add sausage and milk.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Add shredded cheese, flour, salt and pepper.
- Stir well.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
- Parboil cabbage, onion, potatoes, carrots, celery and bell pepper for about 20 minutes.
- Add parboiled vegetables to the sausage mixture.
- Add some vegetable broth if you have room in baking dish.
- Add English peas or kidney beans.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until vegetables are done.
- Cut light cheese slices in half and place on top of casserole for the last 5 minutes of baking time.
