Poached Pears in Spiced Tea (BBC Good Food)

  1. Put the sugar, honey, jelly and tea bags into a big pan.
  2. Add water and bring to a boil.
  3. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Add the pear halves, then cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes until pears are just tender.
  5. Poke with a tip of knife to test.
  6. Lift out the pears, then turn up the heat and throw in the cranberries.
  7. Boil for a few minutes until liquid becomes syrupy.
  8. Discard the tea bags.
  9. Serve the pears with warm syrup poured over.
