Best Ever Chocolate Cake Recipe

• 2 1/2 c. Sugar
• 1 c. Shortening or possibly 2 sticks oleo
• 2 x Large eggs
• 2 1/2 c. Flour (packed)
• 1/2 c. Cocoa
• 1/2 tsp Salt
• 1 c. Buttermilk
• 1 c. Boiling water
• 2 x Scant teaspoon soda

1. Cream sugar and shortening and add in Large eggs, one at a time.
2. Sift flour three times with cocoa and salt.
3. Add in alternatley with buttermilk.
4. Add in soda and water and add in to above ingredients.
5. Grease and flour 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan.
6. Bake at 300 degrees for 90 min.
7. Test for doneness.
8. Cold and ice with your favorite icing.
9. (Subliminal message: Your favorite icing is CHOCOLATE...)
