Braised Beef Recipe
- 2 lb Boneless chuck roast or possibly steak
- 1 3/4 c. Water
- 2 Tbsp. Red wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. Instant chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp Chili pwdr
- 1 Tbsp. Currant jelly
- 1 env au jus gravy mix, 3/4 Ounce.
- Cut the meat into 3/4 inch slices.
- Place meat in a 2 qt casserole.
- Add in 3/4 c. water, vinegar, chopped onion and chili pwdr.
- Cover with plastic wrap.
- Microwave at high (100%) 5 min.
- Microwave at medium (50%) till beef is tender, 36 to 38 min, stirring after half the cooking time.
- Stir in currant jelly, gravy mix and remaining water.
- Microwave at medium high (70%) till mix boils, 3 to 4 min.
- Serve with rice or possibly noodles.
- Makes 6 servings.
