Bountiful Barley Soup Recipe
- 1/2 to 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 7 c. water
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce.) can whole tomatoes, unsalted
- 1/2 c. barley
- 1/2 c. celery
- 1/2 c. carrots
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1 bay leaf
- 9 ounce. pkg. frzn veggies, any kind
- Saute/fry grnd beef with garlic and onions in large soup kettle or possibly Dutch oven.
- Add in water and remaining ingredients except frzn veggies.
- Cook for 3 plus hrs.
- In last 1/2 hour add in frzn veggies.
- Wonderful winter soup.
