Chocolate Pecan Pie
- 1 single pastry crust (9-inch)
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 12 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Heat oven to 375F.
- FILLING: In the bowl of an electric mixer beat eggs at low speed until blended.
- Stir in sugar, corn syrup, butter, vanilla and salt.
- Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Pour into unbaked pie crust.
- Bake 55-60 minutes or until set.
- Cover edge of pie with foil if necessary, to prevent overbrowning.
- Remove pie to cooling rack to cool completely.
- Cool to room temperature before serving.
- Refrigerate leftover pie.
