Blackened Steak with Mango Salsa
- 1 mango, coarsely chopped
- 2 plum tomatoes, chopped Safeway 1 lb For $1.29 thru 02/09
- 1/2 cup chopped red onions
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup A.1. Thick & Hearty Sauce
- 1 beef sirloin steak (1 lb.), 1/2 inch thick
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. each garlic powder, ground black pepper, ground red pepper (cayenne), onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. each dried oregano and thyme leaves
- Combine first 5 ingredients in medium bowl; stir in A.1.
- Refrigerate 1 hour.
- Cut steak into 4 pieces.
- Mix remaining ingredients until blended.
- Sprinkle evenly over both sides of steaks; rub into steaks.
- Heat large heavy skillet on high heat.
- Add steaks, in batches; cook 3 to 5 min.
- or until bottoms are blackened.
- Turn steaks over; cook 2 to 3 min.
- or until medium doneness (160F).
- Serve with mango salsa.
