Brownie Heaven
- 1 (18 ounce) box German chocolate cake mix (UK - 1 Box Betty Crocker Chocolate Cake Mix)
- 34 cup butter (UK - 6 oz)
- 23 cup evaporated milk (UK - 5 oz can Carnation Milk)
- 12 ounces mini chocolate chips
- 14 ounces caramels
- Cream butter, beat in cake mix and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk.
- Press 2/3 of mixture into greased 9" x 13" tin and bake at 350 (180 C) for 6 - 8 minutes.
- Empty chocolate drops evenly over semi-cooked mixture.
- (Chocolate drops should be plain choc but I couldn't get that into the ingredients list).
- Put rest of evaportated milk and caramels in a bowl and melt in microwave (Go carefully and stir every 20 - 30 seconds until all melted and mixed together).
- Pour caramel mixture over the chocolate drops then sprinkle remaining batter on top and bake for 15 - 20 minutes Cool, slice and enjoy.
- Note: Although recipe refers to a batter, it is actually more of a sticky paste.
- You could add a little more evaporated milk if you wish to make it easier to handle if you wish.
