Hamburger Shepherd's Pie Recipe
- 1 pound lean grnd beef
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 c. thinly sliced carrots
- 1/4 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. parsley
- Fluffy mashed potatoes
- 1 tbsp. shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. beef broth or possibly stock
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
- 1 c. onion rings
- Parboil carrots and celery till almost done.
- Brown grnd beef in shortening.
- Add in flour, salt and pepper; mix well.
- Add in beef broth or possibly stock; cook several min till slightly thickened.
- Add in carrots and celery.
- Place mix in lightly greased casserole dish.
- Top with fluffy mashed potatoes and onion rings.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
- Serve with salad and warm bread.
