Ginger Cake
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 12 teaspoon clove
- 12 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 cup butter
- 23 cup vegetable oil
- 1 23 cups sugar
- 13 cup dark molasses
- 5 large eggs, seperated
- 13 cup madeira wine
- 1 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Combine flour, soda, powder and spices.
- Cream together butter, sugar, and oil.
- Add molasses and stir well.
- Beat in egg yolks.
- Stir in Madeira and milk.
- Beat in dry ingredients.
- Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and fold in gently.
- Pour batter into well greased 10 inch tube pan.
- Bake for 1 hours 15 minute.
- Cool and serve.
