Sam Adams Chili
- 1 lb. sirloin
- 1/2 lb. center cut pork chops
- 1 lb. chicken breasts
- 2 green peppers
- 4 hot peppers
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. fresh oregano
- 1 medium onion
- olive oil
- 1 gal. tomato juice
- 2 pkg. El Paso chili mix
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 bottle Sam Adams wheat beer
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 bay leaf
- Using meat grinder on coarse, grind meats, peppers, garlic and onion.
- Add olive oil to the bottom of 5-quart Dutch oven.
- Brown meats; pour off excess fat.
- Add rest of ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Stir occasionally, then cover.
- Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
- Let cool to room temperature, then reheat.
