Cherry Squares (Cobbler) Recipe
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 c. flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Cut in shortening, as for a pie crust.
- Mix egg, lowfat milk, and vanilla together and add in to dry mix.
- Pat 2/3 of mix into ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
- Pour cherry pie filling over mix and sprinkle the remaining 1/3 over fruit.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 min.
- Blueberry, apple, pineapple pie filling may be used.
