Jamaican Beef Pies

  1. preheat oven to 400.
  2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion & cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  4. Add curry powder; cook 1 minute.
  5. Stir in ground beef; thyme, allspice, salt & pepper.
  6. Cook 5 minutes, breaking meat apart with a wooden spoon.
  7. Stir in broth & bread crumbs; cook 2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Unroll crescent dough.
  10. Cut each piece crosswise into 3 (8x4-inch) pieces, for a total of 6.
  11. Roll each piece out slightly.
  12. Place 1/2 cup of filling on half of one piece.
  13. Fold dough over to enclose filling.
  14. Press edges to seal, using a fork.
  15. Transfer to a large baking sheet & brush with a little of the egg.
  16. Repeat with all the pieces of dough.
  17. Bake @ 400 for 15 minutes or until golden.
  18. Serve warm.
