Grandma Rose's Banana Cream Pie

  1. Combine corn starch and cold water.
  2. In a saucepan, combine vanilla, milk, sugar, egg yokes, salt and butter.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add in corn starch and stir well.
  5. Add in bananas and cook for 5 minutes on low med-low heat.
  6. (there should be light bubbles).
  7. Pour banana mixture into pie crust.
  8. If using meringue, spoon meringue over pie - sealing the edges.
  9. Bake at 350 for about 5 minutes to brown the meringue.
  10. If using whipping cream - pipe onto pie using a decorating bag.
