Sweet & Savory Meatballs

  1. In a large bowl, combine beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, and garlic.
  2. Shape into meatballs (I usually make them about 1 1/2 to 2 in diameter).
  3. In a large skillet, and oil and brown meatballs.
  4. In a large saucepan (I use a a pretty large one because I quadruple and sometimes even quintuple the sauce), combine all the sauce ingredients.
  5. Cook over medium heat until bubbling.
  6. Remove meatballs from skillet with a slotted spoon and add to sauce.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.
  8. Serve over hot cooked rice.
