Best Apple Pie Recipe

  1. Boil sugar and cider; add in apples.
  2. Cook uncovered about 8 min.
  3. Drain and reserve syrup.
  4. Syrup should equal 1 1/2 c., if not, add in more cider.
  5. Mix cornstarch, lemon juice and vanilla and 2 Tbsp.
  6. cool water.
  7. Stir with butter into syrup.
  8. Cook till thick and bubbly.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Stir in apples.
  11. Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry.
  12. Add in apples and cover with crust.
  13. Sprinkle with sugar.
  14. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 min till light brown.
