Chocolate Caramel Layer Squares Recipe
- 50 (14 ounce.) light caramels
- 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk
- 3/4 c. melted butter
- Heat caramels in 1/3 c. lowfat milk.
- Set aside.
- Grease and flour 13"x9" pan.
- Combine dry cake mix, butter, 1/3 c. lowfat milk.
- Stir by hand.
- Press 1/2 of dough into pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 min.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust.
- Spread caramel mix over chocolate chips.
- Crumble remaining dough over caramel mix.
- Bake 15 to 18 min.
- Cut into squares leaving in pan till caramel sets.
- May chill to set caramel faster.
