Whole Wheat Beer Bread (And Gift Mix)

  1. Grease an eight inch loaf pan.
  2. Heat the oven to 375.
  3. Combine and mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  4. Add the beer (and water if using) to the dry ingredients.
  5. Mix until just incorporated.
  6. Do not over mix.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick (or wooden skewer) inserted into the middle comes out clean.
  8. On a rack, cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Remove from pan and cool for 10 more minutes.
  10. Serve.
  11. Optional steps: Brush the unbaked loaf with egg glaze (1 egg, 2 tsp water beaten together) and bake as normal.
  12. Or, after baked, brush top of loaf with 1 tsp butter.
