Smokey Country Style Ribs

  1. Preheat oven to 325F.
  2. Sprinkle ribs with garlic salt and pepper.
  3. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Cook about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Keep warm.
  6. Place ribs, rib-bones down, on a rack in a shallow roasting pan.
  7. Baste with sauce.
  8. Bake 1-1/2 to 2 hours, turning and basting with sauce every 30 minutes.
  9. Add water if necessary to keep pan from drying out.
  10. Uncover pan and bake another 1/2 hour or so until tender and well browned.
  11. Cut into serving-size portions.
  12. Bring remaining sauce to a boil and serve with ribs.
  13. Alternatively, make these in the morning, then cover with aluminum foil and lower the heat down to 140F-180F and cook on low all day until they are ready to serve at dinner.
  14. This will cause the meat to fall off the bone.
