Two-Colored Matcha Adzuki Bean Steamed Cake made with a Hand Mixer

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl (no need to drain the yogurt, but melt the butter first), then mix with an egg beater until smooth.
  2. Add half of the batter to a microwave safe container, and drop it several times to flatten.
  3. Let the surface dry a bit and microwave for about 40 seconds to harden.
  4. It will swell right away, so keep a close eye on it!
  5. Once the surface has dried a bit, spread out the amanatto (or boiled adzuki beans) evenly.
  6. Add the matcha to the remaining half of the batter, and mix well.
  7. Pour in the matcha over the amanatto batter, and microwave at 500W for 3~4 minutes.
  8. Poke it with a toothpick.
  9. If it comes out clean, it's done.
  10. Try out this tri-color steamed bread that's perfect for Girl's Day.
