Eggnog Thumbprints
- 23 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar granulated
- 18 teaspoon nutmeg ground
- 2 each egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 2 each egg whites slightly beaten
- 1 cup walnuts finely chopped
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
- 1 teaspoon rum or 1/4 teaspoon rum extract
- 1 teaspoon milk (1 to 2)
- 1 x nutmeg ground
- Beat the 23 cup butter or margarine in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.
- Shape into 1-inch balls.
- Roll balls in egg whites, then in chopped walnuts.
- For filling, beat the 1/4 cup butter or margarine until softened.
- Add powdered sugar and beat until fluffy.
