Verna's Peanut Brittle
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 12 cups white Karo
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 14 cup water
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 14 cups raw peanuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Butter a 9 x 13 cookie sheet (with edges).
- Add the sugar, Karo, butter, water, and salt to a medium suace pan and bring to a rolling boil over medium heat
- Add the peanuts.
- Stir constantly until the foam starts to turn brown.
- Test by dropping the drop of the mixture in a glass of water.
- It's done when the drop instantly solidifies.
- Add the vanilla and Baking Soda while continuing to stir.
- QUICKLY pour the mixture onto the buttered cookie sheet, allowing it to cool.
- Break up the peanut brittle and ENJOY!
