Verna's Peanut Brittle

  1. Butter a 9 x 13 cookie sheet (with edges).
  2. Add the sugar, Karo, butter, water, and salt to a medium suace pan and bring to a rolling boil over medium heat
  3. Add the peanuts.
  4. Stir constantly until the foam starts to turn brown.
  5. Test by dropping the drop of the mixture in a glass of water.
  6. It's done when the drop instantly solidifies.
  7. Add the vanilla and Baking Soda while continuing to stir.
  8. QUICKLY pour the mixture onto the buttered cookie sheet, allowing it to cool.
  9. Break up the peanut brittle and ENJOY!
