Grandma'S Mac And Cheese
- 2 1/2 c. uncooked macaroni
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 lb. cubed Velveeta
- 2/3 c. sour cream
- 1 1/3 c. cottage cheese
- 2 c. grated cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- Cook and drain macaroni.
- Place in 2 1/2 qt. greased casserole dish.
- Melt butter over medium heat, stir in flour; mix well.
- Add milk and cook over medium heat, stir constantly until sauce thickens.
- Add salt, sugar, and cheese, mix well.
- Mix sour cream and cheese into sauce.
- Pour over macaroni; mix well.
- Sprinkle grated cheese and bread crumbs over top.
- Dot with butter.
- The dish may be frozen at this point.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
