Twisted Egg Bread
- 3 packages Yeast
- 1/2 cup Warm Water
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1/2 cup Butter, melted
- 8 each Egg
- 8 cup Flour
- 1 each Egg Yolk
- 1 Cornmeal
- 1 Sesame seeds
- Mix yeast, water, and 1 T sugar together.
- Let sit 10-15 min until bubbly.
- Add sugar, honey, butter, and eggs.
- Gradually stir in flour.
- Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, turn once to cover with grease.
- Let rise 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down; divide into ninths.
- Form each piece into a rope 18 inches long.
- Braid 3 together.
- Tuck ends and place each in a greased, cornmeal coated bread pan (or on a cookie sheet).
- Let rise one hour.
- Brush with egg yolk, then sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
- Bake 350F for 30 minutes.
